Sept '04 - The Phoenix Project Begins
Every petrolhead out there knows that the only way to break records is via forced-induction. So here it is, I lay down my plans for execution. Plans which will see a british designed and engined TVR Cerbera 4.5 become a 6 litre supercharged beast. As if the existing Cerbera was not fast enough, I aim to make this TVR the worlds most powerful, the fastest, the quickest accelerating road-legal car in existence. Is this possible? Oh yes! I'm talking near 1400HP at the flywheel, employing a drag-racing centrifugal blower, progressive 500shot NOS direct-port, dual-stage meth injection and a 6 speed manual drivetrain geared to permit 270+mph speeds at redline. All this and more in under 1100kg.
The plans are detailed, the heart is hungry, the mind is proactive. The million dollar question is how long will it take? Estimates have been provided, but they seem too unrealistic, but only time will tell. Budget? We're doing triple digits if this project is to be successful.
What is the aim? To break records, to remind the motoring institutions of the world, the multi-million dollar automotive corporations, that privateers can still rub shoulders with the best and best of all, a british car, a british engine, designed, built and proven under thorough british scrutiny.
